The Rainy Day - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Rainy Day

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is old, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the mouldering Past,
And the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart, and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all;
Into each life some rain must fall;
Some days must be dark and dreary.

Into each life some rain must fall. This sums up the inevitable challenge to each day. We must all endure the good with the bad. Behind the clouds is the sun still shining. Keep your chin up, take it from someone battling depression. Some days must be dark and dreary.

Haikus and Tanagas! :D

Haiku!

I walked in my room
I look up in the ceiling
I saw a Lizard.

I seat on the sand
I build a one small castle
And I destroy it.

Tanaga!

It tastes so dark on my sweat
It is hot down to my feet
I cringed at the bittersweet
Ah! Such a wonderful teat!

The Gift of Magi by O. Henry

The Gift of the Magi

"The Gift of the Magi,'' are a young married couple with very little money. Jim has suffered a thirty-percent pay cut, and the two must scrimp for everything. On the day before Christmas, Delia counts the money she has painstakingly saved for months. She is dismayed to find she has less than two dollars, hardly enough to buy anything at all. After a good long cry, Delia determines to find a way to buy Jim the present he deserves. As she looks into a mirror, an idea comes to her.

The whistle by Benjamin Franklin!

The whistle
 'The Whistle' by Benjamin Franklin are analyzed. The themes of moral value and vice are argued in this literary study, since Franklin had found his childhood whistle a good moral lesson for him to realize the true value of life. The writer points out that by having this memory to teach him how to trust in love, friendship, and charity, he realized that value is far more than money or other vices that deter people from being happy in life.

The Last Leaf by Oliver Wendell Holmes!

The Last Leaf

The last leaf is about one Major Thomas Melville, who was one of the Indians of the famous Boston Tea Party. Holmes uses the last leaf metaphor to show how Melville was still alive and proud in a time much past his own. I also think it is a tribute of respect  to the old man. Holme's last lines show that Holmes himself would want to be remembered much the same way if he ever reached an age where he could considered the last leaf/in spring.

The Lamb and The Tiger by William Blake!

The Lamb
The Lamb symbolize innocence, serenity, a child, jesus, or sacrifice.
It gives credit to God for making such a beautiful being as the lamb.

The Tiger
The Tiger is described as an animal that basically has to kill everybody in order to live. It is a being whose life is made by death.
